PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

The El Paso Alumnae Chapter also encourages our members and members of the community to be mentally and physically fit through daily and monthly exercise challenges. Studies show there is a direct correlation between mental and physical health. Self-care and a positive mindset are also integral components that the Physical and Mental Health Committee continues to help foster as a part of healthy lifestyle choices.

Breast Cancer Tea

In honor of fellow breast cancer survivors, El Paso Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. hosts a Breast Cancer DSTea in October to increase local awareness of breast cancer screening, treatment and advances and early detection.  Annually, more than 2.8 million women are treated for breast cancer and up to 2,350 men are diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the United States.  Many people know of at least one family member, friend or co-worker who is a breast cancer survivor.  We invite sponsors to decorate tables in celebration of their honoree’s bravery and strength.  We welcome participation in this fun-filled event as we promote breast cancer prevention and commend the perseverance of local breast cancer survivors. .
